I am choosing to stay with my research topic of why fast-casual restaurants seem to be out selling their fast food and casual dining counterparts. My research will useful to those interested i the subject and the people who work in any of the restaurant businesses.
Possible genres:
1. Recipe
2. Advertisement
3. Poster
4. Magazine feature
5. News article

Okay, sounds good. You might want to focus on either people in the business, like you mentioned, or people who eat-out and would be interested in this topic. This might help you select and create the best genres. Since you were supposed to explain how each genre was going to work for your purpose/audience, I can't give you full credit for this. I could see how you might use more "restauranty" genres - obviously the recipe idea works, but consider if you can make these other genres match the tone. Or consider selecting other genres that go with the restaurant theme. Let's discuss these possibilities Wednesday or before.
Even though I'm mentioning this rather late, I thought it would be interesting to bring up Jared from Subway and the move from fast food to healthier fast food. It might be an interesting topic to broach in a fun way. It sounds interesting.
